twenty-one/prayers • DAY 1

The Lord’s Prayer

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

10 your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us today our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.’  Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV)

so simple and so powerful. I’ve going through spiritual warfare which is costing my dearly, so this was a great reminder, and provides a great deal of comfort.

What a great way to start off these 21 days!  I’m praying he brings some heaven in to work today since he’s the ultimate boss and who we all are really working for.

A great way to start the day. I like the distinction between “what” to pray and “how” to pray.

Cheryl Jordan        I pray this prayer every night with my three year old daughter.  Thank you for giving me revelation on how we as believers can make this prayer personal and apply it, and not just recite. I’m so excited about this twenty-one day journey!

Very nice way to start the series. Clearly reflects on the power of a single word. Pronouns in this prayer are equally powerful- Our, Your- should clearly be capitalized, us and we. Could it be that heaven IS doing God’s will? Thine is the Kingdom and The Power and The Glory…

    Awesome Pastor Kerry

  • Shirley Miller

I have used this prayer as a “prayer template” for years, adding in the current specifics for my life and day as needed. Thank you Pastor Kerry to go to so much effort for us!  I look forward to each day’s prayer teaching.

thank you for doing the 21 day devotional—it is a wonderful way to begin the new year.  I often forget how important it is to forgive others–also, i needed the reminder that we on a daily basis are dealing with principalities of evil that we can not see–satan tries to get us in so many way.  I have always felt that the major way satan can get to a Believer is through depression. The best way to get “delivered from the evil one” is to get up and get going IN HONOR OF OUR LORD JESUS, even if we do not feel like it.  Mother Teresa stated she battled her own depression on a daily basis–but she kept on keeping on–THROUGH the depression.  PRAISE BE TO OUR LORD–FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT!  Thank you Pastor Kerry
