The Year of Compassion

Probably the most favorite verse in all the bible sums up the message of Christmas — “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” Love always involves giving. You can give without loving but you cannot love without giving.

The highest expression of love is when we give sacrificially to the One who gave Himself for us! This weekend we are challenged to give our greatest gift to Christ. We’re calling it The Year of Compassion Annual Christmas Offering. The purpose is to give our greatest gift to Christ at Christmas which allows Woodlands Church to fulfill all our ministries and missions’ initiative locally and around the world. This Year of Compassion Christmas Offering is more crucial than ever before. Would you join Chris and me in giving your best gift this Christmas? It’s not about equal amounts but equal sacrifice.

This weekend we will gather to worship and to offer our cash offering and faith commitment card to Christ at Woodlands Church. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do as we honor Him with our best Christmas offering.

I will be wrapping up our series Restoring Christmas this weekend as we prepare ourselves for the most dynamic year of Christmas Eve Services we’ve ever experienced. With 22 identical services at 4 locations we need your help. Would you take a moment and sign up online to volunteer at one or more of our Christmas Eve Services? I can’t think of a more personally rewarding way to spend your Christmas Eve than serving others who will hear the message of God’s love for the first time. We need your help this year more than ever before.

I also want to personally invite you to a special Christmas Communion Celebration Wednesday at 7pm at the Fellowship Campus. We are spending the day fasting and will break our fast with communion together as we get spiritually prepared for Christmas. I look forward to seeing you here Wednesday night and this weekend at any one of our Woodlands Church campuses.
