Special 9/11 Service

It’s been a decade, but none of us will ever forget the tragic events in our nation on 9/11/01. That day changed all of us in so many ways. This weekend we will remember the real heroes of 9/11 in a special way. I want to encourage you to bring a friend with you to church this weekend and help us say thank you to those heroes. Whether they are in New York or Texas, what they represent demonstrates courage and heroism to all of us today. On 9/11 we learned who the real heroes are – not the sports icons or movie stars we so often praise but the civil servants, the policemen, firemen and emergency medical personnel that risk their lives daily to protect and preserve our safety.

Recently, we’ve witnessed their selfless sacrifices in the Texas fires in our own area. We each owe a debt of gratitude to these heroic men and women. That’s why I’m asking all of you who serve in law enforcement, the fire department or as an emergency medical provider to wear your uniform to church this weekend. We want to recognize you and express our heartfelt appreciation for all you do.

Join me and my family in celebrating the courage of those who serve us everyday this weekend at a Woodlands Church campus near you.
