Day 25 // 40 Days and 40 Nights

This Week’s Promise to Remember

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  2 Corinthians 9:6 (NIV)

Today’s Daily Promise

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.  Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)

Thank you, Kerry. Your message today is so special, and will touch folks in ways you cannot even imagine. I admire your generosity, your heart for your people and your ministry, your tireless devotion and the ways you use your imagination and creative spark to dream up so many ways to reach out to people, to connect us all in a virtual church, and even visit us in our homes. God bless you in all you do.

This morning as I watched the daily promise, I was so encouraged because I am currently in Budapest for medical tests on my arm and am so weary and tired of the pain. This promise lifted my spirits as I decided to go walking throughout the city today.

During my visit, I came across a street vendor at the castle who had an Eagle he was using as a venue to get tourists to take their pictures with. He approached me and asked if I wanted to have mine taken with this beautiful bird when I noticed his head was covered with a hat so that he couldn’t see. The man explained to me that if he took off the hat the eagle would fly away and start to hunt as it was created for. (p.s. I didn’t have the picture taken)

This was a reminder to me that in this scripture that if we take our eyes off of Jesus and keep our heads covered, we can’t soar like eagles but if we open our eyes, we can fly and soar to heights unlimited and do exactly just as God had created the Eagle for.

Thank you Pastor Kerry again for praying and spending time with the Lord so that you can encourage and teach us.
